You will be discovering amazing ecosystems from Paramos and cloud forests in the Eastern Andes to Mangrove forest, wetlands, tropical rainforest and the astonishing Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Mesmerizing landscapes and incredible birds only found in these mountains will be waiting for you.
This 11 Days tour focuses on providing you with a high-quality birding experience. With a starting point in the capital city of Bogotá, our first stop will be in the Chicaque National Park and Sumapaz Paramo (Eastern Andes) searching for some interesting birds like hummingbird feeders and tanagers.
Our next destination will be La Calera Hummingbird observatory, a private place where you can find a great variety of hummingbirds and other birds.
After some days in the Andes we will head to a much more tropical weather, the Atlantic coast will be our host, our journey will begin in the Mangrove forest, where we will certainly look for aquatic birds, then we will go through Los Flamencos National Park where Near Endemic and Endemic birds are possible. We will find ourselves closing this tour in a spectacular Tropical rain forest and in one of the top birding hotspots La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where lots of endemic birds and Near Endemic will be waiting for you. There we will visit El Dorado and Minca marvelous birding places.
The next day we will explore La Florida Park Wetlands and El Jardín Encantado two key hotspots where we will dedicate time to the Endemic and Near-Endemic birds. Then we will be in Chingaza National Park where we will visit a great spot with a lot of birds and impressive landscapes, plus the possibility to encounter with impressive mammals.
