Day 1 - Bogotá

We will pick you up at the International Airport El Dorado and check in a lovely and high-quality and quiet hotel in Bogotá. You will be welcomed with a delicious dinner and a general idea of our journey.

Day 2 - Salamanca National Park


Flight to Barranquilla Salamanca Natural Park- Tayrona
We will take a flight to Barranquilla in the morning, after arriving we will go to Salamanca Natural Park, an interesting place for shorebirds and some specialties such as (E & CR) Sapphire-throated Hummingbird (Lepidopyga lilliae), (NE & NT) Northern Screamer (Chauna chavaria), Hook-billed Kite (Chondrohierax uncinatus), Boat-billed Heron (Cochlearius cochlearius), and Black-crested Antshrike (Sakesphorus canadensis) after birding in these mangrove forest we will head to Tayrona and close our afternoon with some more birding.

Day 3 - Tayrona – Ríoacha


In the morning we will visit Tayrona National Park, this park extends more than 20 miles it is home to a great variety of birds that live in this tropical forest ecosystem some of them are the endemic Blue-billed Curassow, Lance-tailed Manakin, White-necked Puffbird and Barred Antshrike just to mention some. After lunch we will head to La Guajira. 

Day 4 - Los Flamencos National Park


In this place we will dedicate the day to get the region’s special birds, Vermillion Cardinal (Cardinalis phoeniceus), American flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber), American oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus), Buffy Hummingbird (Leucippus fallax), Chestnut Piculet (Picumnus cinnamomeus), Pileated Finch (Coryphospingus pileatus), Tocuyo Sparrow (Arremonops tocuyensis), Slender-billed Tyrannulet (Inezia tenuirostris) and White-whiskered Spinetail (Synallaxis candei) among others. Night at Minca.

Day 5 -Minca - Santa Martak


This day we will visit a paradise for birders, a humid forest home to a great amount of birds and lots of Endemics some of the are Santa Marta Brush Finch (Atlapetes melanocephalus), Santa Marta Wood-Wren (Henicorhina anachoreta), Santa Marta Blossomcrown (Anthocephala floriceps) and Santa Marta Antbird (Drymophila hellmayri). Nevertheless, there are many other interesting birds that we will keep an eye on them like: Rosy Thrush-Tanager, Glaucous Tanager, Keel-billed Toucan, Red-billed Parrot and Russet-throated Puffbird just to mention a few. Night at El Dorado lodge.

Day 6 -  El Dorado Reserve

Back HomeA mecca for birders, this Reserve offers a wide variety of birds and lots of them Endemic or Near Endemic, some of them are; Santa Marta Mountain Tanager, Santa Marta Bush-Tyrant, Santa Marta Parakeet, Yellow-crowned Whitestart, and Black-backed Thornbill we will spend the day looking for these birds and more specialties in the Santa Marta mountains.

Day 7 -  El Dorado Reserve-Flight to Bogotá

We will continue covering different elevations from La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta where more and more birds will be crossing our way. Andean Condor, Santa Marta Screech-Owl, Santa Marta Woodstar, Lined Quail-Dove, Barred Parakeet, Fulvous-headed Tanager, Blue-naped Chlorophonia, Groove-billed Toucanet, Golden Grosbeak, Rusty-headed Spinetail and Crowned Woodnymph. Flight to Bogotá in the afternoon.

Day 8 -International flight Back Homee


Departure day, during this day people will be taking flights from Bogotá to their destinations.
